Theresa

My name is Theresa Henry and this semester I started working at Cairns School of Distance Education as the Acting HOD – Junior Secondary Phase and Literacy. Prior to moving to Cairns, I lived on Thursday Island and worked at Tagai State College, Thursday Island Secondary Campus for the past 9 years. At Tagai I worked in a variety of roles including, Practical Arts HOD, School to Work Coordinator, Deputy Principal and Teacher of: Performing Arts/Drama, Film and TV, English and Certificate III in Children’s Services.
I studied a Bachelor of Education (Secondary: Drama) at Griffith University in Brisbane and after graduating I worked for a year at a school in Brisbane, teaching English and Drama before moving to the Torres Strait.
Being a part of the Tagai-SDE Skoolaborate dance project has provided a fantastic opportunity for me to work with the students in sharing and developing their ideas, experiences and skills in this area. I look forward to our future collaborations in this project.
